Mr. Laugharn graduated from Stony Brook University in 2016. While pursuing a BS he worked on a quantum networking experiment involving Type-1 Spontaneous Parametric Down Conversion (SPDC) in the research group of S. Maleki. After completing his BS in May 2016 he joined the Quantum Matter Group of K. Dieckmann at the National University Singapore as a Research Assistant until May 2018. In this role he was responsible for maintaining laser and computer control systems for an experiment exploring a quantum degenerate Fermi-Fermi mixture of 6Li-40K and 87Rb. Mr. Laugharn is a graduate student in the Department of Physics at the University of Maryland in College Park. His starting project in the Britton Lab is characterizing the vibration of a closed loop liquid helium cryostat suitable for ion trapping.
